Microsoft purchased GitHub in 2018, a software development platform that houses hosting software to approximately 40 million developers. The cybercriminal group, Shiny Hunters hacked Microsoft’s GitHub account and obtained 500 GB of data.

Shiny Hunters says it has not only stolen the data, but also leaked the data on hacker forum. They have been operating differently recently, according to what some researchers have observed.

We can assume Microsoft will be resetting all API keys.
